Product Design

01 — The Challenge

Powerful AI tools, scattered experiences

AI products are often built around individual tasks. A user may need one platform to write content, another to create visual media, another to analyse market information, and another to research investments.

This creates a fragmented experience. Users have to learn different interfaces, manage multiple tools and move information from one platform to another.

The design challenge was not simply to create four AI tools, but to make them feel like parts of one coherent product.

02 — The Product Vision

One workspace. Multiple possibilities.

TumzyTech is built around four core experiences:

Write

Create and improve professional content with AI assistance.

Animate

Turn ideas and content into engaging visual experiences.

Analyse

Explore market information, trends and insights.

Invest

Access investment information and decision-support tools.

03 — Design Goals

Four primary goals

1. Make AI approachable

AI can feel technically complex. Users should understand what each tool does without needing to understand the underlying technology.

Decision: Use familiar language, clear labels, guided prompts and focused actions.

2. Create one consistent ecosystem

Four tools could easily feel like four separate products.

Decision: Shared navigation, visual language, component library and interaction patterns.

3. Reduce cognitive load

The platform could contain a large amount of information and functionality.

Decision: Organise around the user’s primary tasks rather than exposing every feature at once.

4. Design for different users

Creators, freelancers, startups, SMEs, marketing teams and organisations.

Decision: Flexible foundation where users access the same core tools while tailoring workflows.

04 — Information Architecture

Structured around user goals

The navigation is organised around what users want to accomplish, rather than around technical features.

05 — Key Design Areas

Core experiences

The Dashboard

The four primary capabilities (Write | Animate | Analyse | Invest) are presented as clear actions. Recent projects are surfaced below. The dashboard answers the user’s most important question immediately: “What can I do here?”

AI Writer

Designed around a simple creation flow: Choose content type → Describe what you need → Set tone/language → Generate. Progressive disclosure keeps the interface approachable.

AI Animator

Begins with a simple prompt (“Describe the animation you want to create”) rather than a complex timeline. Makes animation approachable for non-designers.

Market Analysis & Investment

Clear market cards, trend indicators, simplified charts, and visual hierarchy. Overview first, detail second. Focus on decision support rather than information overload.

06 — Design System & Trust

Visual language & principles

Visual Direction

  • • Deep dark backgrounds
  • • Purple and blue gradients
  • • Bright accent colours
  • • Rounded cards & soft shadows
  • • Clear typography
  • • Minimal iconography

Designing for Trust

AI-generated content and financial information can have significant consequences. The product clearly communicates when information is AI-generated and encourages users to review important outputs. AI should assist the user’s decision — not replace judgment.

07 — Reflection

Balancing power and simplicity

The biggest design challenge was balancing power and simplicity. TumzyTech has a large feature set, but adding more functionality does not automatically create a better product. The interface needed to make advanced capabilities feel approachable.

This project strengthened my understanding of designing AI-powered products, particularly around information hierarchy, progressive disclosure, system feedback and trust.

If I continued the project, the next priority would be usability testing with representative users and iterating on the dashboard, AI workflows and market/investment experiences based on real feedback.
